Simone de Beauvoir and the Ethics of Ambiguity

Born January 9, 1908 in Paris, France, Simone de Beauvoir developed as a writer, intellectual, and activist. Her life-long relationship with Jean-Paul Sartre and her influential text, The Second Sex, put her on the map. This mini course focuses on the French existentialist and pioneer of what is called second-wave feminism. This mini-course includes an introductory lecture on The Ethics of Ambiguity, further reading and resources, and a two-hour recording of the live discussion centered on this book.
