I had no idea there was such a thing as a Frankenstein ballet.

I was just watching the San Francisco Ballet Company on World Ballet Day 2016 (via YouTube) this afternoon. And they will be performing Frankenstein early next year. They showed the Pas de Duex (duet) from the beginning — the love scene between Vincent & his bethrothed. It was beautiful! But I thought how amazing it was to have heard about a Frankenstein ballet twice in the same week.

They went on to say that it is a new ballet. It’s World Premier was just this May! By the Royal Opera House. Your little ballet company must be pretty good, Jess!

How funny! During intermission, they introduced some of the ballerinas that travelled from all over the world to try out for their company. It seems like a pretty big deal. They are performing The Nutcracker this winter and Romeo and Juliet in the spring. I hope you get to see it! As a dancer and a reader, you’ll appreciate the art and the story!

I love that you encourage teaching empathy through literature.. ClassDojo and Harvard University’s Making Caring Common Project collaborated to create a three-episode video series all about empathy. There are 3 videos and activities to accompany them to help strengthen students’ empathy skills.
